He has arrived!!!!!

For those of you who still check on this site and are interested, we have posted several pictures in an album on Picasa.

Anthony Ryan Rush was born 21 DEC 2007 at 1:57 pm. He weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 20 inches long. He is a week and a half old already...has been to the Dr's office twice, celebrated his first Christmas, and has been to church for the first time. As you can see from the pictures posted here, he has changed SO much already!!!!!

Anthony struggled with jaundice for the first few days of his life; however, after having a biliblanket (phototherapy) for a few days, he is back to "normal" and his liver is functioning just fine.

He is the most precious and darling child I have EVER seen. He is so perfect in everyway, and we love him more than we ever thought possible to love a human being.

Grammy and Grandpa Sumner have been here from the time momma and daddy went to the hospital, and they will be going home today. We have all enjoyed each other's company greatly, and we will be sad to see them go, but that's part of life when you live so far away. Uncle Vince, Aunt Kyla, and cousin Noah came to visit in the hospital and arrived approx. 30 minutes before the little man made his debut. Aunt Ree and Uncle Chris came to see Anthony the day he came home from the hospital. Also, Great-Grandma Connie & Great-Grandpa Errol came for a visit this past weekend. It's been a blessing having family come to visit.

We will be in Indiana the weekend of 12-13 January, but time is going to be tight trying to see family in Indianapolis, Martinsville, and doing Christmas with both families.

Thanks again for your continued support, love and prayers! We will continue to need those as we nurture and raise our son to be a fine young man!

Love always in Christ,
Tony, Shawna & Anthony

36 weeks and counting

(this picture was taken at 35 weeks and 2 days)

As of 09 December, I am officially 36 weeks. As most of you can calculate, that will put me at 37 weeks this Sunday! WOW...already! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has FLOWN by. I will be heading back to the Dr. on Friday, 14 December, to see how things are progressing, and then returning there again on 20 December. Wish me luck! I am SOOOO ready to meet this little man and to welcome him to a home full of love!!!

(this picture was taken at 35 weeks and 2 days)

Daddy will be done with finals tomorrow; so, he will just be working for another week and a half. Then, he'll have a couple of weeks off. I hope little Anthony is born during that time so that he can truly enjoy some time with him before his schedule goes back to being crazy again!

Thanks again for the continued support, prayers, and phone calls to check on momma and baby! Sleep is becoming something of the past very quickly...I can't get comfortable, and when I do, I just have to get up to run to the bathroom to pee. Oh, the joys of late stages of pregnancy. *giggle* Won't be too much longer and we'll be welcoming the newest member of our family into this world! We're SUPER excited and we hope you are too! Feel free to come and visit...just give us a head's up, please! Love ya'll!!!

Love always in Christ,
Tony & Shawna
parents-to-be

26 November 2007

32 weeks

This is us at 32 weeks. This picture was taken on Veteran's Day while we were on our cruise. We are, obviously, safe back home now and just anxiously awaiting Anthony's arrival. We had a blast while on vacation, and I was blessed to have a comfortable and enjoyable trip. No sea sickness and no queeziness from the food. I was THRILLED!!!

As we count down the weeks...we are currently (as of Sunday, 25 NOV 2007) at 34 weeks, and we will be going back to the Dr. 04 December. We will see what the Dr. has to say at that time, but before we know it, we'll be holding our little bundle of joy in our arms!!!!! I can't wait to meet the little man!

We spend Thanksgiving with momma, daddy, Rosaleigh, Chris, and some friends from here (Lory, Shawn, Nikko, Riler, Keri, Jeff, and Mackenzie). It was truly a blessing to be surrounded by family and friends for the holiday! I hope that our little bundle of joy will arrive in time to be surrounded once again for the Christmas and/or New Year's holiday with family and friends!

Thanks again for your continued support and prayers...as we embark on this new adventure in our lives, we're going to need all the prayers and support we can get!

31 weeks

Yes, I know...my Colts lost, and Anthony and I were rather upset about that, but you know what...I'm still THRILLED about being pregnant and I can't wait to meet our little man! (Just a side note...my best friend got engaged this weekend too...congrats Kristen & Mike...Anthony's God-parents!!!!!)

Anyway, we are at 31 weeks now, and Jackie and Twyla held a baby shower for my friends here in KY...it was a BLAST!!! After we ate and opened gifts, we watched the Colts vs. Patriots game! We were hoping for a little better outcome, but such is life. At least we can go into the playoffs without the pressure of "undefeated" hanging over our heads.

Well, here are the latest pictures...from the baby shower, and one in a dress I was going to TRY to wear on the cruise...but the boobies are just too big for it...it's me at 31 weeks though; so, enjoy!

31 October 2007

GOOD TO GO!!!

Well, went to the Dr. today...and I'm GOOD TO GO on the cruise!!! I even got a letter stating I'm healthy and have no complications, and it is OKAY for me to TRAVEL!!!!! I'm so excited!

Blood pressure was 124/66, which is GREAT for being this far into my pregnancy. Only other question I had for the Dr today was why I keep having a stabbing pain in my right side. He said it's nothing to be concerned about...he seems to think that it's just because I'm "rather fit" and that my muscles aren't used to stretching like that. *crosses fingers* I hope that's all it is.

Today at work, little Anthony was trying to disect my kidney, I think. It hurt so bad I just had to sit there and wait for the pain to go away. Nothing to be concerned with there either says the Dr. Ah well...and the pregnancy goes on. I am now down to going to the Dr. every 2 weeks...for the next 6 weeks, and then it will be weekly. WHOOHOO!!!

Thanks for the continued prayers and support as we anxiously wait our way through this last 60-some days. He's gonna be here before we know it!!!!!

30 October 2007

30 weeks and 2 days

We're well into the 3rd trimester now! And we are going to TRY to take weekly pictures from now until the time he arrives!

We are both getting SUPER excited to meet the little man! Daddy started his job last week, and we are still adjusting to our new schedule, but things are going well!

Momma has finally slowed things down a bit...not seeing as many patients at work, sleeping whenever I feel tired, and yet, I still find time to clean and organize this house. Yes, there's still lots of work to be done before the little guy gets here, but I'm working on it...slowly but surely!

We ordered the border for Anthony's room; that should be in tomorrow or Thursday; so, we will be going to pick out the paint and possibly painting his room this weekend! He'll be here before we know it!!!

The baby shower for friends here in KY is this Sunday at Jackie's...if you need/want directions, please call me! Then, after the baby shower, we'll be watching the Colts vs. Patriots game! Then, only 2 days of work next week before we head off on our baby-moon! Another baby shower in Indiana for family/friends on 17th, and then HOME SWEET HOME until the Anthony decides to come into this world!

The pictures that are attached, I just took on Sunday...so they are our 30 week pictures!

17 October 2007

28 weeks and 3 days

Little Anthony has been SUPER active lately; it's so fun to feel him move and watch the little movements from the outside. I can only imagine what it's like from the inside. *giggle*

I am growing more and more everyday; you can definitely tell I'm pregnant now! (these pictures were taken at 26 weeks)

I have officially entered the 3rd trimester, and I'm starting to feel like it. I am getting back to the "sleepy" state; I don't feel like doing much around the house these days. When I get home from work and get off my feet, I just want to relax and SLEEP!!!!!

Only 12 more weeks, and the little guy should be here! I can't believe it!!!!!!

A few points of interest:
*VACATION (Momma & Daddy are going to take an 8 day cruise to enjoy our last vacation as a couple...we're SUPER excited!!!!!)
*Baby Shower in KY - 04 NOV
*Baby Shower in IN - 17 NOV

Hope ya'll are enjoying the pictures and such! Feel free to call or stop by anytime...we LOVE company!!!!!

23 September 2007

25 weeks

Yesterday, Daddy felt little Anthony kick for the first time. While I've felt him moving for a while now, Daddy hasn't been able to feel it.....until yesterday! Also, "Grammy" and "my buddy" Mary also felt the little man kick.

Mary, Trish, Justice, Dorothy, and Destiny all came up to visit for the weekend from Georgia. As well as my momma, Kyla, Noah, and Christopher came down from Indiana. We all had a GREAT visit!!! I love having company!!!

Yesterday, Tony and I also got our KIA bracelets in honor of Ryan and we put them on and they will never come off. We also got a bracelet for Anthony so that he will always know who he was named after. I just hope that he understands why his name is what it is and that he will respect those who wear the uniform and serve this country proudly.

Last Sunday, Momma and Anthony went to the Colts game in Nashville, and he got a little excited when momma was jumping around and cheering (rather loudly) at the game. I told him, "it's alright, little buddy, you're just going to have to get used to that...it's not going to change." *giggle*

13 September 2007

23 weeks and 4 days

We had another Dr's appointment today. Nothing TOO exciting for those who've been through this before, but each Dr's visit is exciting for me...first time momma!

We listened to the heartbeat again...and evidently our little guy didn't like the sound the doppler was putting off and at first he "swam" away from the sound. Then, when she "chased" him with it, he started kicking at it. *giggle* Looks like he's gonna be stubborn...just like momma! hahaha Poor little guy!

They also did my gestational diabetes test today...looks like everything is good there too! My blood pressure is staying in the "normal" range...120/80. Which is GREAT! His heart-rate was consistant around 130! And the news on the weight is...I've gained 13 pounds! Not too bad for being almost 6 months into the pregnancy! Everything so far is looking good! She even said we're still good to go on our cruise in November!!! WHOOOHOOOO!!!!!

Thanks for the continued prayers and support! I have had a touch of "evening sickness", but I think that's just little Anthony's way of telling me what food he likes for dinner and what he doesn't. Ah well, I have been truly blessed this entire pregnancy, I can't really complain.

08 September 2007

23 Weeks

Well, my belly is starting to grow to where you can actually tell I'm pregnant! :D I still wouldn't say I look nearly 6 months pregnant, but I'm getting there!

I am starting to feel the little guy move around inside me...which is TOTALLY amazing; however, I am really anxious now for daddy to be able to feel him move from the outside. He's not a super active baby...but I'm sure that will change if he's anything like his daddy (or momma for that matter)!

I have been truly blessed with a pleasant pregnancy and haven't had any complications. I go to the Dr again on 13 Sept; we'll see what they have to say then.

Sleep is becoming something I don't get much of. LOL And I'm sure that's just God's way of preparing me for not sleeping through the night once he finally gets here. When I do sleep, I just wake up with achy hips and feel like I'm 80 years old anyway.

Thanks again for your continued support and prayers! We can never have too many prayers for this young man! Please pray for us as parents and for little Anthony's future...it's never too early to start praying for him! Thanks!!!!!

Love ya'll!

Nursery Decor

Here is one link to see our room decor for the nursery (just click on the title of this blog). Unfortunately, Babies-R-Us, where we registered, does NOT carry it; so, I am trying to provide other resources. :) You can also find this stuff on amazon.com if you search for "Crown Craft Jungle Babies Nursery Coordinates". Any questions, feel free to ask!

Yes, we are going to take more belly pictures, hopefully sometime this week, and I will post those!

As of Sunday, 19 August, I reached the 1/2 way point! We are SUPER excited!!!!!

15 August 2007

19 weeks

For those of you who don't know already, we had our ultrasound yesterday, and from what we could tell...it's a BOY!!!!! We are both SUPER excited and can't wait to meet our little darling!

Things are going GREAT for both momma and daddy! Momma is slowly growing, and daddy's patience have been SUCH a blessing!

Although I haven't really felt him move much, we did get to see him on the ultrasound monitor yesterday, and "there REALLY is a baby in there!!!!!"

Yes, for those of you wondering, we do already have a name picked out: Anthony Ryan. Anthony will be of course after "daddy"...and Ryan will be in honor of a dear high school friend of mine who was killed in Afghanistan on 29July2007. I will keep ya'll updated as to how things are going and post pictures as much as I can! Please feel free to check back here as often as you'd like as we will keep everyone updated as well as possible here.

As always, continued prayers, advice, and support are always appreciated! I'm sure we are about to embark on things we could never even IMAGINE in our life!!! Thanks for being there for us and with us through it all! God bless!
